You Have Been Invited 12-23-2010

Madison and Katelynn both received invitations from Grandpa Great Morgan to come have lunch with Santa. It was so much fun. Much better than last year, especially since Madison wasn't throwing up all over! We arrived right on time, and Santa was there at the door to greet us with a "HO, HO, HO". Madison was super excited. We got to take lots of pictures with Santa, and tell him what we wanted for Christmas. After everyone got a chance to see Santa, he had to return to the North Pole to get ready for Christmas Eve. Once he finally got out the door, it was lunch time, and decorating cookies for Santa. Thank you to Grandma Great Morgan for the cookies to decorate...Santa loved Madison's cookies and ate them ALL. I love this Christmas Tradition and we hope to be around for all the Christmas' to come to continue this tradition with the family.

I thought for sure that I would have one child that screamed and hated Santa's Lap. But, Katelynn was awesome and just kept looking at me like, 'Mom, when are the pictures stopping?'

Temple Square Christmas Lights 12-20-2010

This year, we decided that we would go to Temple Square to see the Christmas Lights. It was beautiful and BUSY! We still had lots of fun. Katelynn was a real trooper through the whole thing. Nate had the camera, so these are all the pictures that we have. Before we went down to see the lights, I got to reading about the history of the Temple Square Lights, and why they do the colors they do; this was on LDS.org. It was very interesting. We had a quick family home evening and off we headed to Salt Lake to meet Blake and Melissa and family, with Jeff. It was probably the best home evening I have ever had.

Annual Moss Family Christmas Party 12-18-2010

Each year, in Salt Lake City on the Saturday before Christmas, the Annual Moss Family Christmas Party is held. The only disappointment was Santa was "sick" and couldn't come. When we told Madison this, she said, "No, Santa just decided that he wanted to come visit another day, somewhere else." We left it at that and didn't argue. After food, we have a Christmas program where anyone can participate (no matter if you can't sing, dance, or play an instrument; someone will figure out something for you to do). The girls, Madison and Cambrie, wanted to sing, and all the children got to play the bells. It was really a lot of fun. Too bad that we will miss the Harman New Year's Eve Party!

Christmas Hayride 12-17-2010

Ever since Nate and I started dating, every Christmas, the Morgan's have done Christmas Hayrides through Layton City Park in Utah. We love this tradition and I hope that we can continue it forever! We sure missed most of our family (Jeff, Marilee, Ty, Kortnie, Aubrey, and Drew), but Blake, Melissa, Cambrie, Zane, and my little family loved every minute of it. Madison even got to tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas.

Ty and Kortnie's Wedding 12-10-2010

Yesterday, Nate's brother, Tyson, got married to Kortnie. First, the girls went to Salon Morpheus for mimosa (virgin) and primping for the wedding (sorry, no pictures of the girly morning, but that is a good thing because I wasn't ready for the day yet!). Then, we went to the temple. It was a beautiful ceremony! The weather was not so wonderful, but it worked. Afterwards, we had a luncheon at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We quickly hurried from that to reception at the Union Station in Ogden. It was a very busy, but fun day. Madison and Cambrie were the "flower girls", and had matching dresses. Katelynn's also matched the flower girl dresses as well. The reception was lots of fun. The wedding colors were teal, silver, black, and white. I think everything turned out great. Congratulations Ty and Kortnie. We love you!

The best part of the whole wedding was while we were getting pictures with the bride and groom, the temple workers were giving tours of the old conference building, tabernacle, and other places of the temple grounds, and the kids spotted "Santa Claus". They called to him, and he came over and talked to them. They LOVED it. Madison made sure to tell him that she had been a good girl. Later, after the reception, Madison decided that this guy was the fake Santa, because he wasn't wearing gloves or red pants! We told her that Santa dressed in jeans and a YELLOW COAT on his day off, to learn about our church.

A Very "Nose"-y Cat Experience

Well, last night I was on the floor playing with Katelynn, when Madison starts screaming and crying. She kept saying, "It's stuck in my nose, it's stuck in my nose. Ow, ow, ow!" So I got some Q-Tips thinking, oh she just has a plugged nose. We went into my room and I laid her down on the bed and turned on the penlight. To my surprise, there was really something inside her nose!!! I couldn't believe it. I said, "Uh, Nate you might want to come help me! Madison has something stuck in her nose." While waiting for daddy to come help her, I asked her what happened. She proceeded to tell me about her Crazy Cat (that is his name, Crazy Cat). I could only understand that she had taken some of Crazy Cat's Rubber Hair and had stuck it up her nose. The hair was so close to the opening of her nose, we could have gotten it and as soon as we were about to, she sneezed. No, it didn't come out with the sneeze, but it went higher up into her nose. Daddy couldn't get it, and Madison wouldn't go to the hospital until Poppy (my dad) came and looked at it. She kept saying, "Poppy can get it, he's a doctor." Needless to say, Poppy couldn't get it. So I quickly called her pediatrician this morning. Luckily, he had a cancellation at 9:30 am. I was also informed by the nurse that Madison would be the third child today that has stuck a "foreign body" up their nose and gotten it stuck. We got to the doctor, which Madison was awesome, she didn't even cry; only to have the doctor tell us that there is nothing in her nose! I am not going crazy, I saw the bright green tip! The doctor said that it could be there, just watch for pus drainage from the nose and a really bad odor. If she has these things, it is still in there and he will send us to an Ear, Nose, Throat Surgeon to surgically remove the "foreign body" from her nose. Goodness! The crazy things kids do. Happy Thanksgiving 2010

Here are our Thanksgiving photos. This year we went down to my parent's house. My Aunt Janee, Uncle Larry, and cousin Kyle were visiting for the holiday. It was nice to be at my parent's since we hadn't been there for Thanksgiving since before Nate and I were married. We definitely missed being at the Morgan's this year, but I still got my favorites: Green Bean Casserole and Sweet Potato Casserole (with the Marshmallows on top).

Poor Madison! This was before we started eating. This would be my sister's closet, in the back corner, no less. She was out. She was even snoring. It was really cute.
