Packing & THE MOVE 9.2012

We got all packed up and these first few pictures are about a week before we left.  Katelynn slept on her mattress on the floor.  This is how I found her when I checked on her. 

Madison got mad at me and she thought that coloring her hair with permanent marker would make me sad.  I don't think I have laughed harder in my life.  She has blue just down from the top of her ear.  Poor girl.  This was a hard move for her.

It was 11:00 pm and we needed food.  We had just finished loading our PODS and Red Robin was the only place still open.  Thank Heavens!  The girls shared an Orange Dream Smoothie.

Our third day of driving and here is Entering Indiana sign.  Shortly afterward we passed through Gary, IN; Nate and his dad listened to the Music Man, but I couldn't get my music to work.  DARN!  ;)

We are finally here in Indiana.  Now onto all the fun happenings in Indiana.

This has been one of the CRAZIEST, HARDEST parts of moving across the country, trying to find a place to live.  Everything that we looked at when we were there at the beginning of July was either a really nice house, but had pretty scary neighbors, or homes that we didn't want to live in.  We were very discouraged.  Our FANTASTIC, AMAZING realtor, Sally called me one day with an answer to all of our problems!  One of her clients had a home that had been on the market for a year and the owner wanted to rent it out.  After looking at the pictures it was a no brainer!  The house is a two minute walk to Madison's school and only about a ten minute drive to Nate's work.  Well it is actually about a 15 minute drive because of the construction, but hopefully that will be done soon.  It was everything we wanted plus more.

Things are looking up!  Madison is enrolled in school, we know where we are living, now to pack and drive FOREVER (only three days of driving).  :)

Indiana Interview 07.2012

Nate had an interview in Elkhart, IN.  The practice flew Nate and I out to Elkhart to take a look at the area and decide if we liked it.  There are NO mountains or even hills in Indiana, especially around Elkhart.  It is hard to navigate the area because we have nothing to tell us what is East, West, South, or North.  Needless to say, Nate and I made very fun and special moments getting lost, finding ourselves in Michigan, and figuring our way back to our hotel.  We told Madison that we would take pictures for her.  Here is what we got:

As you can tell, that is pretty much all the area is, (trees & cornfields).  Needless to say, we really like the area and were 100% sure at this point that this is where we were going to live!  We told the doctor at the interview that we wanted to be here is he wanted us.  Nate got the job...Indiana here we come!

While we were here, we had to visit Notre Dame and take pictures of the football stadium & other surrounding buildings.  It was fun to visit the school.
